While processing incoming email, the CipherMail gateway must take a large number of decision on how to handle email. For example it has to decide whether to encrypt with S/MIME, PGP or some other encryption method. The gateway settings and the configured mail flow determine how the gateway will handle an incoming email. The default mail flow of the CipherMail gateway is defined in an XML file. The mail flow can be described in a state diagram. By following the state diagram and answering the questions, an admin can follow exactly how an email is processed by the gateway.
The state diagram shows the default state diagram for the Enterprise and Professional edition. The Community edition will not contain all features.
The state diagram can be opened in a separate windows by following this link.
The state diagram is very large. Use the mouse scroll wheel (or use the + or - key) to zoom.
